NEW PROCEDURES DUE TO COVID-19

Thank you for scheduling an appointment with us.  We look forward to seeing you soon.  Attached is a list of our protocols for our therapists and clientele.  Please note, a mask is required by everyone entering our clinic during this time.

Please check our vaccination status on our FAQs.

PLEASE read to the end.  The requirements for you, as a client, are in effort to keep the public safe.  If you have any concerns, please let us know and we can discuss.

Our goal is to keep everyone as safe and to feel completely comfortable moving forward. Here at Moonshadow Medical Massage, we continue to be very cautious to reduce the risk of any type of exposure.  We would rather err on the side of caution to keep all of us safe and DO NO HARM.

Things We are doing:

  • As always, we use clean linens for each person. Equipment is always disinfected after each session with hospital grade cleaner.
  • Used surfaces, such as tables, chairs, and door handles, in treatment rooms are cleaned after each client.
  • For seated work, the therapist will have on face shield used as a barrier between client and therapist.  We will be wearing masks the entire day and taking daily temperature checks on ourselves.
  • As always, we wash our hands and arms before and after each client.
  • We will not be doing any intraoral work (work inside the mouth) until further notice.

Things we will require of you:

  • Please fill out Health Intake Form online, prior to appointment. It includes an important COVID-19 Vaccination Question and our cancellation policies.
  • If you are immunocompromised (or live with someone who is) but would still like a session, PLEASE LET US KNOW! We would like to reserve the first session of the day for you and understand your needs of a cleaner environment.
  • Please DO NOT COME EARLY for your appointment.  If you arrive early, please wait in your car until 5 min before your appointment time.  We want to have plenty of time to clean everything. During this time, we also prefer to not have you waiting in the waiting room if we can avoid it.
  • If you are coming from work, gym or feel that you need to change your clothes before entering the clinic, feel free to use the bathrooms in our building.
  • We request that you wear your own face covering when entering the clinic and will remain on at all times. Masks are required for everyone entering the suite.
  • Water is available but as always, we recommend having your own in the car for hydrating after the massage.
  • Please see the COVID faqs for more about COVID-19 and massage therapy.

Thank you for understanding.  We are fortunate that our clinic is small facility and can control our environment.  Our staff has completed a mandatory Infection Prevention training course and complying with the NC Department of Health and Services Interim Guidance for massage business settings. We are keeping up to date and following the recommended guidelines of the North Carolina State Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy, the American Massage Therapy Association and Governor Cooper's Executive Order No. 141

Things We are doing:

  • As always, we use clean blankets, sheets and pillowcases for each person and equipment will be disinfected after each session.
  • Every possible surface in treatment rooms is cleaned after each client, with a detailed clean at the end of the day.  We have had to eliminate certain comforts added to massage tables but will add them back as we move forward.
  • Your therapist will have on a clean apron and/or top to help reduce chances of possible exposure.  For seated work, the therapist will have on face shield used as a barrier between client and therapist.  We will be wearing masks the entire day and taking daily temperature checks on ourselves.
  • Therapists have 30 minutes between appointments to allow time for cleaning and will be temporarily limiting sessions to 4 a day, per therapist.
  • As always, we wash our hands and arms before and after each client. Bodyworkers have added the use of nitrile gloves to sessions, and we will be implementing this policy until future notice.  In the future, please let us know if you wish for your therapist to continue this practice.
  • We will not be doing any intraoral work (work inside the mouth) until further notice.
  • If you have future appointments already scheduled, your therapist will be confirming via email with you before the appointment.

  • If at all possible, please come straight from your home with clean clothes and keep jewelry to a minimum. If you are coming from work, gym or feel that you need to change your clothes before entering the clinic, feel free to use the bathrooms in our building.
  • We request that you wear your own face covering when entering the clinic and will remain on at all times. Masks are required for everyone entering the suite.
