What is Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (MAT)?
Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (MAT) is an osteopathic approach to massage therapy for rebalancing the body.
What does that mean?
MAT treatments encourage your body as a whole to get back to its natural state of functioning by re-educating muscle tissues and body structures. This includes position of your bones in joints, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. During MAT treatment sessions, we are releasing tightly wound-up muscle tissue AND taking things a few steps further by pinpointing the muscles that are not working hard enough for you.
We’re looking for the root cause of your pain so that you can experience lasting relief from chronic ailments. Techniques, including facilitated muscle resistance procedures, strategic proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching, and joint mobilizations are used to wake up those underworking muscles, restore function, and aid your body in re-learning balance.
The results are muscles working in unison with one another and doing their assigned work, ease of improved posture, increased joint mobility & range of motion and of course, decreased pain. Thus, allowing you to be pain-free and keeping you doing the activities you love and enjoy!
